A total of 34 University of Hawai'i swimming and diving student-athletes combined to earn 92 All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) honors as the league announced its all-conference selections on Tuesday.

Sthamann and Sandell Sweep MPSF Weekly Honors for Hawai‘i Diving

Sweeping the conference accolades in consecutive weeks from the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation, this time it was the University of Hawai'i divers who collected the league's top weekly honors. Officials from the MPSF office announced on Tuesday that Madison Sthamann and Johan Sandellhave been named MPSF/TYR Female and Male Athletes of the Week.

Sthamann Earns Platform Win, Sandell Second off 1-Meter on Final Day at UCLA

The 2017 MPSF Women's Diver of the Year, senior Madison Sthamann (Balgonie, Saskatchewan) was the big winner for the Rainbow Wahine, claiming the top finish off the women's 10-meter platform on a combined mark of 627.20, topping the preliminary by 30 points. Sthamann was a stalwart performer for UH in the finals, earning the win by 87.85 points.
Sthamann's 334.40 in the final marked a career best and fell just one point shy of Rui Wang's 2005 record, producing on a big stage with roughly 80 percent of the NCAA Zone E performers in competition.

Sthamann and Sandell Notch Third-Place Performances on Day Two at UCLA

Balgonie, Saskatchewan senior Madison Sthamann topped the UH women's performers with a third-place final ranking on the three-meter springboard, recording her a career-best score of 631.35 and moving up after coming in fourth in the preliminary. Ivy Houser finished 14th in the finals and Maria Renteria was 23rd.

SWIMMING & DIVING HANDS OUT TEAM AWARDS

Madison Sthamann earned women's Most Outstanding Diver honors after a stellar season that concluded at the NCAA championship meet. Sthamann won MPSF gold in both the platform and 3-meter diving competitions, and was the MPSF Women's Diver of the Year. Sthamann recorded the No. 2 platform diving score in program history, a 313.90 during her MPSF championship performance.

HONOLULU -- The University of Hawai'i swimming and diving teams captured seven out of a possible 10 major MPSF postseason honors, as the league recognized it's top individuals on Thursday.

Sthamann (Balgonie, Saskatchewan, Canada/LSU) makes it a perfect five-for-five for Rainbow Wahine earning MPSF Women's Diver of the Year honors, following Aimee Harrison's four-year run. Sthamann is this year's MPSF three-meter and platform champion, earning first-team all-conference on each board. She was also a second-team honoree on the one-meter. On the final day of the MPSF Championships, Sthamann recorded an MPSF record platform score of 313.90, helping UH to the team title. She went on to place second in the platform and 12th on the three-meter at the NCAA Zone E Championships. Sthamann was the only MPSF female diver to qualify for the NCAA Championships, where she placed 21st on platform and 49th on three-meter.

Senior Cole Miller has been named male SEC Diver of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
