Club Volunteers Needed

Hello Diving Families!

We are in the final stages of preparing for Junior Development Nationals, taking place July 16–19, with training dates occurring July 13–15. As the hosting partner, Diving Plongeon Canada (DPC) relies heavily on our club volunteers to help ensure a successful competition experience for athletes, coaches, officials, and spectators.  We are looking forward to a great event and this is an incredible opportunity for our club and community. 

Over the course of the event, we will require volunteers for several key roles, including:

  • Announcing

  • Tables (score entry)

  • Hospitality Room (supporting coaches, judges, and DPC staff)

  • Canteen

  • Merchandise / Event Entrance Table

  • Event Set Up (Monday)

  • Event Take Down

  • 2-3 people to BBQ on Sunday 

  • Banquet Set up

DPC has asked that we attempt to staff longer volunteer shifts and maintain consistency within roles — especially for announcing and score entry (minimum 1/2 shifts with no rotation of people within that 1/2 day). With that in mind, we are trying a slightly different volunteer structure this year to help streamline scheduling and create a smoother event experience.

For announcing and tables, the SignUpGenius will include one time slot per day (8:30 am – 7:30 pm).

 Don’t worry this does not mean you will be working the entire day.

Our goal is to have:

  • Approximately 12 table volunteers rotating through the 6 table positions throughout the day

  • Approximately 4 announcers rotating throughout the day

We are hopeful this approach will simplify scheduling, allow for smoother transitions, and reduce confusion during the competition.

We are asking people to sing up by June 10th. If you have any special requests please email mrs.natalie.mitchell@gmail.com & james_vickaryous@hotmail.com 

 Important Announcing Note:- Announcers must be comfortable announcing numbers & letters in French (dive & scores) (DPC requirement) 

- Announcers must have announced before at provincials or westerns (DPC Requirement)

In the coming weeks, we will also circulate volunteer sign-ups for:

  • Merchandise / Event Entrance Table (we might also have a small raffle table set up with 5 raffle packages - our club directly retains revenue from the raffle)

  • Hospitality Room (this is for coaches, judges, DPC only)

  • Canteen (select food will be available for purchase to families and athletes)

  • Event Set Up & Take Down (event set up will tentatively take place Monday at 8:00)

  • Banquet Set up

As always, thank you for the many ways you contribute to our club. Hosting events of this caliber is only possible because of the incredible support of our diving families, alumni, and community.
